Jean M. Short, 87-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO died Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Short was born March 21, 1926, in Walnut Ridge, AR. to the late Everett and Virginia Blake McGhehey. She was a line worker at Procter and Gamble in Cape Girardeau, MO. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and collecting rocks. She enjoyed her family and cooking for family gatherings. Mrs. Short was a past member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Oxly.
Mrs. Short was married to Thomas Allen Jones, who preceded her in death. She then was married to Robert Earl Short, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are four children, Patti Jones Dawes of Doniphan; Diana Lynn Jones of Scott City, MO; Gary Alan Jones of Milton, FL; Denver Jones of Doniphan; one step-son, Raymond Glenn Short of Tilden, IL; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 18, 2013, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Short will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5-8 P.M.
