Newlin Loyd Scott, 38, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Scott was born July 1, 1969, at Taft, California. He was regional manager for a major trucking company. Mr. Scott was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing music.

On February 19, 1999, he was married to Joy Lewis at Joplin, Missouri. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Brandon Calhoun, Lacy Scott and Wesley Scott, all of Doniphan; his mother, Joyce Scott of Mansfield, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Schmied of Mansfield, Missouri, and Carolyn Woodward of Kansas City; and one brother Richard Scott of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Newlin Otto Scott, one sister, Sandra Moffet and one brother, Robert Lynn Scott.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, May 14, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 15, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
