Obituary of Emery Switzer

Emery Dee Switzer, 83, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Switzer was born September 18, 1924, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a sawmiller in the timber industry. He attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On April 3, 1948, he was married to Louise Bridges at Hardy, Arkansas. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons: Lester Wayne Switzer, Donald Switzer, Gary Switzer, Rick Switzer and Terry Switzer, all of Doniphan, Missouri; three daughters: Mary Nelson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Janet Purcell and Sheila Meadors, both of Doniphan; six sisters, Evelyn Wills, Lyonda Barks, Leeoca Groves and Elcie Carter, all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Vinnie Backert of Park Hills, Missouri, and Lorene Henson of Knob Lake, Missouri; one brother, Doyle Switzer of Poplar Bluff; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Switzer was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert Switzer and Nettie Tillman Switzer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Harold Tackett officiating. Burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
