Robbie Jo Hardgrave, 87, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at her residence in rural Ripley County.
Mrs. Hardgrave, daughter of Willie and Verbie (Manning) Jenkins, was born October 12, 1925, in Knoxville, Arkansas. She was a housewife. Mrs. Hardgrave enjoyed crocheting, fishing, reading, working with flowers, farming and she especially loved raising her children.
On December 19, 1942, she was married to Amos Darrell Hardgrave, Sr., and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1953.
Surviving are seven children: Bob (and Susan) Hardgrave of Branson, Missouri, George (and Kathryn) Hardgrave of Salida, Colorado, Carolyn Chapman, Donna (and Blake) Chase and Tim (and Karen) Hardgrave, all of Doniphan, Beverly (and John) Whitaker of Mocksville, North Carolina, and Debbie (and Dean) Whitson of Paris, Arkansas; one sister, Shirley Clayborn of Loveland, Colorado; two brothers, Bill Jenkins of Polo, Illinois, and Sam Jenkins of Arnold, Missouri; 31 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 41 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Amos Darrell Hardgrave, Jr.; two sisters, Beulah McKenzie and Mildred Curtner; one brother, Louis Jenkins; two grandchildren, Jeff Redus and Amos Hardgrave III; and 2 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Keegan.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at noon in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Briar.
