Brother Clint Roger Colburn, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Brother Colburn, son of Clifford B. and Lucy J. (Smith) Colburn, was born September 24, 1926, in Ripley County, Missouri, He had been preaching for 51 years. Brother Colburn was ordained as a minister on September 30, 1962. After that time he pastored in Missionary Baptist churches at West Doniphan, Bethlehem and Amity in the Doniphan area, at Friendship in Harviell, Missouri, and at Antioch in Ellington, Missouri. He was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. A veteran of the armed forces, Brother Colburn served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On April 20, 1945, he was married to Ginnie Geneva Merritt at Success, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2010. Surviving are five children: Carrie June (Johnny) Bingham, Dian Decker and C. H. (Janice) Colburn, all of Doniphan, J. R. (Jeannine) Colburn of Kansasville, Wisconsin, and Sam (Panoply) Colburn of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Billy F. Colburn of Bolivar, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Herb Dale of Doniphan; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Joyce Kay Colburn, one grandson, Justin Colburn, one sister, Wanda Dale, and one brother, Harold Colburn. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Monday, September 9, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brothers Russell Chitwood and Jimmie Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Towles Cemetery.
