Gordon David Fawdrey, 69, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Three Rivers Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Fawdrey was born March 3, 1939, at Hastings, New York. He was a residential contractor. Mr. Fawdrey was an assistant pastor and member of the Faith Seventh Day Adventist Church and a former chaplain of the Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. He enjoyed farming and especially liked working with roses and goats. A veteran of the U. S. Army, Mr. Fawdrey served in Viet Nam.
On April 8, 1985, he was married to Rhonda Arvin at Doniphan, Missouri. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters: Christina Putman and Vanessa Putman, both of Doniphan and Jessica Martin of Thayer, Missouri; one son: Stephen Gramham of Cookville, Tennessee; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Fawdrey was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon J. Fawdrey and Pauline Maxon Fawdrey.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, May 7, 2008, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Ron Elston officiating. There will be a private burial service.
