Obituary of June Clanton

June W. Clanton June W. Clanton, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mrs. Clanton was born January 4, 1922, in LaPorte, Indiana, to the late Edward M. and Lucinda (Smith) Cook. She was a member of the Current River Baptist Church and worked at Howmet Aircraft in LaPorte before retiring to Doniphan. On September 9, 1967, she married J.T. Clanton, Jr. in LaPorte, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1993. Survivors include three children: Sharon Arndt of LaPorte, Indiana, Linda Spencer of Walkerton, Indiana, and Jeri Zabel of Hanna, Indiana; eight step-children: Ava "Jean" Weber of Doniphan, Dane Clanton of Union Mills, Indiana, Richard Masterson of Tacoma, Washington, Brad Masterson of Augusta, Georgia, Ginger Stone of Waco, Texas, Don Clanton of Oslo, Norway, and Sue Rosentreter and Kay Clanton, both of LaPorte, Indiana; twenty-five grandchildren, sixty-three great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, one son, Wilbert, one grandson, Keith Clanton, and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with Brother Wes Flaugh officiating. Burial will be at Towles Cemetery.
