Merrill Robert Root, 88, of Doniphan died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Root was born October 29, 1919, in Lancing MI, to the late Earl William & Gertrude E. (Merrill) Root. He worked in an automotive factory in Lancing MI before becoming an electrician. Mr. Root served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during WWII. In 1975, he married Sue Pippin in Las Vegas, NV. She survives Survivors include one daughter Robin Renee Steel of Doniphan and one grandchild, one sister Janice Dohm of Lansing, MI and one brother Richard Root of Sun Lakes AZ. Private family services to be held.
