Essie M. Crook, 89, of Ellsinore, Missouri, formerly of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Crook was born September 15, 1918, in Ripley County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ. On February 17, 1940, she married Ora A. Crook at Doniphan. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1983. Also preceding her in death is one son, Oren Lee crook, on March 6, 1970. Survivors include three daughters, Anna Woods (Bob) of Doniphan, Edith Brooks (Charles) of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Norma Hoxworth (Bob) of Ellsinore; two sons, Bobby Crook and James R. Crook (Debbie), both of Doniphan; seven grandchildren, Brian Brooks of Wilmington, North Carolina, Angie Brooks of Athens, Georgia, James E. Crook of Fletcher, Missouri, Jonathan Crook of DeSoto, Missouri, Bobby Hoxworth of Kansas City, Missouri, Scotty Crook of Springfield, Missouri, and Jaime Bodenhamer of Nixa, Missouri. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crook was also preceded in death by her parents, John Robinson and Maude Plunk Robinson, and five brothers, Grady Robinson, Sr., Ray Robinson, Loren Robinson, Marvin Robinson and one infant brother. Visitation will be Friday evening, April 18, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Ronnie Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery on Highway 21 North in Doniphan.
