Vernon Ray "Butch" Lewis, 61, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at his residence in rural Doniphan.
Mr. Lewis, son of Bertha (Blackwell), was born December 13, 1951. He was a general laborer. Mr. Lewis enjoyed watching boxing and being with his grandchildren.
He had been married to Deborah Ray Moman in Andrews, Texas, for 39 years and she preceded him in death on February 4, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Lewis and Chris (and Samantha) Lewis, both of Doniphan; one daughter, Stacey Lewis of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Head of North Dakota; one brother, Bob (and Barbara) Lewis of Doniphan; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Vernon Ray Lewis, Jr., and one sister, Cathy.
Visitation will begin Saturday morning, July 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ron Elston officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
