Obituary of Bobby Barnett

Bobby Ozeane Barnett, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Barnett, son of Joe M. and Artie Bell (Sartin) Barnett, was born August 20, 1938, in Booneville, Mississippi. He had been a sawmiller and cattle farmer. Mr. Barnett enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. On May 14, 1960, he was married to Shirley McAbee in Waukegan, Illinois, and she survives. Also surviving are four children: Bobby Ray (and Sheila) Barnett of Doniphan, Shirley Janet (and Lee) Boyd of Corning, Arkansas, Joan Jeanette (and Charles Keith) Young of Clinton, Utah, and Donna Jenaeh (and Jamie) Lamkin of Doniphan; one sister, Vera Husley of Cordova, Alabama; one brother, Alton Barnett of Doniphan; 12 grandchildren, Bobby Ray Barnett II, Jared Heath Barnett, Janet Marie Neff, Krysta English Merrill, Sara Beth Boyd, Christopher Keith Horne, Noah Hunter Horne, Kyler Ellis Young, Hans Sellmeyer, Megan Sellmeyer, Hannah Sellemyer and Lauren Sellmeyer; and two great-grandchildren, Paityn English Merrill and Saige McKenna Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kathy Barnett, and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Saturday evening, May 11, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will follow in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
