John Warren Daughenbaugh, 79, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan.
Mr. Daughenbaugh was born April 5, 1928, at Naylor, Missouri. He was retired from Lever Brothers in St. Louis. John lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God and had lifetime memberships in the American Legion #87 at Naylor and the VFW Post #3485 in Doniphan. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, being discharged in October, 1947. He was inducted into the U. S. Air Force beginning in July of 1957 and served twelve years.
On April 19, 2003, he was married to Helen Christian Henson at Doniphan. She survives.
Other survivors include three step-children; Winston Henson of Fulton, Missouri, Becky Roberts of Dallas, Texas, and Shawn Henson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three step-grandsons, Chris Henson of Kansas City, Matt Roberts and Sam Roberts, both of Dallas; and three nieces, Joy Parker, Nikki Antalack and Carol Ormsby, all of St. Louis.
Mr. Daughenbaugh was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Eugene Daughenbaugh and Beatrice Patterson Daughenbaugh, and two sisters, Wilma Ormsby and Bernadine McKinley.
Visitation will be Friday, March 28, 2008, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Sanders officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
