Obituary of Betty Spencer

Betty Jean (Patterson) Spencer, born October 10, 1932 in Ripley County to the late James and Laura (Niswonger) Patterson and died March 22, 2013 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 12 days. As Ms. Spencer has a big family she enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers and collecting rocks. Her family kept her going for many long years of medical challenges of a stroke, two different bouts of cancer, hip replacement and other surgeries but she was a strong lady and always had a smile on her face. On October 24, 1950 she married Leroy Spencer. They enjoyed 62 years of marriage and he survives. Other survivors include four children Randy (Janice) Spencer; Steve (Gwen) Spencer; Dianna J (Warren) Bland and Teresa G (John) Klepzig all of Doniphan. Eleven grandchildren: Brandy Spencer, Mandy (Joshua) Rawlings, Nicholas (Jennifer) Spencer, Zachary Spencer, Kelley Spencer, Sarah Bland, Jeremy Lewis, Nichole (Jeremy) Emmons, James Bland and Aaron and (Jillian) Klepzig. Fourteen Great Grandchildren: Randa Franke, Rebecca Franke, Levi Rawlings, Isaac Rawlings, Ian Spencer, Anna Spencer, Wyatt Spencer, Waylon Spencer, Carter Spencer, Chance Watson, Jace Bland, Madalyn Lewis, Brooklynn Klepzig and Paysley Klepzig. Ms. Spencer was preceded in death by her parents, one son Larry Neal Spencer, one grandson Joshua Bland. Ms. Betty was the last of six siblings; Ora Patterson, Ola King, Nola Howard, Lola Patterson, Nova Murphey and Jimmy Dow Patterson Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday March 24, 2013 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral service will be Monday March 25, 2013 at 11 AM at the Edwards Funeral Home with Bro. Jared Baker officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery.
