Loyd Eugene Elliott, 60, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Elliott was born July 21, 1947, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a welder specializing in store fixtures. A U. S. Army veteran, he was a former member of Eagles Arie #4443 of Doniphan. Mr. Elliott liked to fish, hunt, play cards and darts. He also enjoyed gardening, computer games and reading books. On December 7, 1998, he was married to Dovey Kathryn Hillis in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Lucindy ( Tim) Hutchins and Jamie Lynn Dent, all of Doniphan, Jamie (and Bruce) Jefferson and Becky (and Mike) Everitt, all of Barnhart, Missouri, Teresa (and Jerry) Flegal of Painted Post, New York, and Cindy Everitt of Olean, New York; five sisters, Kay (and David) Johnson, Elwanda (and Daniel) Borkus and Alma (and Clifford)Walker, all of Doniphan, Linda Elliott of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Helen (and Leroy) Copeland of Arnold, Missouri; two brothers, Wiley (and Janet) Elliott of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Ed (and Jean) Hinklen of Rockford, Illinois; and sixteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ray Dean Haynes Elliott, one son, Jerry Risinger and his parents, Ivan Elliott and Opal McConnaughay Elliott. Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Fred Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
