Bobbie (Robert) P. Longnecker, 88 year old resident of Doniphan, formerly of Streator, IL passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at his daughter Kathryn's residence.
Robert was born February 17, 1925 in Streator, IL to the late Charles and Charlotte Mae (Petty) Longnecker.
He was married to Lelia M. (Robinson) Duncan on October 13, 1962. She survives. Also surviving are step-daughters Venita Goluba of Lincoln, IL; Cleta Joan(Gordon) Gray of Wiggins, MS; Shelia Huhn of Doniphan; Sharon (Jerome) Plocinski of Eagle Lake, WI; Kathryn (Steven) Mitchell of Doniphan; Sister Doris Chergoski of Urbana, IL., and five generations of grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn and Charles Longnecker; sisters Roberta Carlson, Frances Chergoski, Madge Beamer, Phyliss Briner, Betty Pout, Jean McCreight, and Margaret Mehalic; granddaughter Mary Jean Persinger and Great-Granddaughter Sabrina Dennis.
Robert attended Streator Country Grade Schools and Streator High School. He proudly served his country during WWII. He retired from Owens Illinois Glass Factory. Robert devoted his life to his family, was much loved and respected for his devotion and sense of humor.
Cremation rites will be held and Memorial Service and burial will be held at a later date.
