Golden Lillian McPheeters, 104 year old resident of Doniphan, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McPheeters was born June 6, 1906 in the Johnston Chapel community. She was a housewife and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and canning. She was of the Methodist faith.
On March 16, 1937 she was married to Davis McPheeters. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1980.
Surviving are 1 sister-in-law, Ethel Dalton of Doniphan; nieces; Irene and Irvin Eddington and family, the late Wanda King and family, Hannah Maddox and family, Faye Brooks and family, and nephew Tom and Marilyn Dalton and family. She is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Odes Dalton, one half-brother, Teal Languell, and three half-sisters, Charity Holt, Effie Farrow, and Permelia Jackson.
Funeral services for Mrs. McPheeters will be held Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew Rev. Ray Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Johnston Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday.
