Richard Yount, 74, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Yount, son of Robert and Mae Pearl (Ferrell) Yount, was born December 20, 1938, in Kennett, Missouri. He had been a riverboat captain. Mr. Yount enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeler riding and tinkering on vehicles, especially his jeep. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and had served four years of duty.
He was married to Lorretta Harris and she preceded him in death in December, 1979.
Surviving are two daughters: Cathy (and Fred) Aldrich of Doniphan and Glenna (and Danny) Pinkston of Fairdealing; two sons, Robert Yount and Paul (and Stacy) Yount, both of Gatewood, Missouri; one sister, Barbara Russo of Doniphan; one brother, Sammy Yount of Kennett; and 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter.
Visitation will take place Friday evening, March 15, 2013, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan from 5 - 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Larry Earl officiating. Burial will be in the Gregory Cemetery in Kennett.
