Obituary of James "Jim" Peal

James William "Jim" Peal, 72, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan, Missouri. Mr. Peal, son of Oscar and Katie (Knight) Peal, was born December 3, 1938, in Alton, Illinois. He was a crate packer at McDonnell Douglas. Mr. Peal enjoyed woodworking, making models of cars and trucks and playing pool weekly with his friends. He was a member of the Westwood Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam era. On March 17, 1971, he was married to Juanita Pennington in Alton, Illinois. She survives. Also surviving are five children; Keith Allen Peal and Kerry Snelling of Fairdealing, Missouri; Kathi Fish of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, James Keith Snelling of Barnhart, Missouri, and Karen Howley of Benton Harbor, Michigan; one brother, Wayne Peal of Titusville, Florida; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Sonny Peal. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Steve Proctor officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
