Mary Juanita Slayton, 93, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mrs. Slayton, daughter of Raymond and Myra (Limes) Stack, was born October 1, 1919, in Ripley County, Missouri. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Slayton loved her family, children and animals and was an active participant in the Republican Women's Club. She was also a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She was married to Howard E. Slayton in May of 1938 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1998.
Surviving are two sons, Don Slayton of Doniphan and Joel D. Slayton of Florissant, Missouri; grandchildren, Jeffrey D. & wife Nancy Slayton of Roswell, New Mexico, and Heather Lenza of Florissant; and six great-grandchildren, Roxanne, Veronica, Jonathan, Jillian, Caroline and Maddox.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation for Mrs. Slayton will be held Sunday evening, March 3, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jim Baggett officiating. Burial will be in the Fairdealing Cemetery.
