Obituary of Dorothy Little

Dorothy E. Little, 102, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mrs. Little, daughter of Joseph and Emily (Walker) McGee, was born December 27, 1910, in rural Ripley County, Missouri. She had been a cook at the Doniphan Public Schools and the Doniphan Nutrition Center. Mrs. Little enjoyed cooking, taking care of flowers and being around children. She was a member of the Simpson Creek Church. She was married to Willie Little at Simpson Creek in 1927 and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1957. Surviving are three children, Earnsteen (and Franklin) Pigg, Janice (and Curtis) Tucker and Waymon "John" (and Barbara) Little, all of Doniphan; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emily McGee, her husband, Willie Little, six children, Kenneth Little, Glenn Little, Juanita Pigg, Birdie Richmond, Imogene Little and Wilma Jean Little, and one grand-daughter, Bonnie Little. Visitation for Mrs. Little will begin at noon on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
