Obituary of Lillian Whitworth

Lillian Marie Whitworth, 67, of Harviell, Missouri, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Whitworth, daughter of James Elehue and Lillie V. (Fair) Motes, was born December 28, 1945, in Mastason, Mississippi. She had worked in home health and retired from the Poplar Bluff School District where she was employed as a cook. Following retirement, Mrs. Whitworth became a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Family Worship Center. She was married to Carlos Junior Whitworth in 1967 at Hornersville, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1996. Surviving are four children; Tena Briscoe of Doniphan, Missouri, and Crystal Whitworth, Jimmy Whitworth and Timmy Whitworth, all of Harviell; one sister, Ruth Lewis of Myrtle, Mississippi; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie Motes, her husband, Carlos Whitworth, and several brothers and sisters. Visitation for Mrs. Whitworth will be Sunday evening, February 17, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will take place Monday afternoon, February 18, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sister Bonnie Goins officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
