Billy Theron Smith, 76, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at his residence in rural Doniphan.
Mr. Smith, son of Dink and Essie (Swigert) Smith, was born January 11, 1937, in Grandin, Missouri. He had been production manager for Vitronic Manufacturing and retired after 38 years of employment. Mr. Smith enjoyed all sports, particularly basketball, baseball, bowling and golf. He especially enjoyed taking his boys hunting and fishing.
He was married to Dorothy Boyer on December 15, 1956, in Grandin and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons; Jerry (and Karen) Smith and Wilbert (and Karol) Smith, both of Doniphan; five grandchildren, Erika (and Dustin) Sams of Conway, Arkansas, Nicholas (and Natalie) Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, and Christopher Steel, Daryl Smith, and Derek (and Chrissy) Smith, all of Doniphan; four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Hunter Smith and Dalton and Sammy Jo Sams; and two sisters, Frieda Riecken of Granite City, Illinois, and Darlene Prescott of Newport News, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dink and Essie Smith.
Visitation will be Saturday evening, January 19, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Sunday afternoon, January 20, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Harold Tackitt officiating. Burial will be in the Grandin Cemetery in Grandin.
