Obituary of Cecil Cannon

Cecil L. Cannon, 78, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Cannon, son of Robert and Gertie (Smith) Cannon, was born November 3, 1934, in Grandin, Missouri. He had been employed with the city of Doniphan and had also been a sawmiller. Mr. Cannon enjoyed being with his family, Current River and hunting. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God.
On September 10, 1960, he was married to Barbara Medling in Wolcutt, Kansas. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Carol Ann (and David) Jones of Asheville, North Carolina; one grand-daughter, Marina Carol Jones of Asheville, North Carolina; two brothers, Elmer Cannon of Fredricktown, Missouri, and Charles (and Phillis) Cannon of Doniphan; three sisters, Mary Ford, Phyllis Kelly and Imogene Keating, all of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gertie Cannon, and three sisters, Maxine Turner, Dora Hulvey and Rosa Carter.
Visitation for Mr. Cannon will start at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2013, and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., all at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery with Brother Danny Miller officiating.
