Clifford Daniel Gunter, 52, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, in Ripley County. Mr. Gunter was born August 12, 1955, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a logger in the timber industry and was a veteran of the military. Mr. Gunter enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles and playing with his son. On October 11, 2003, he was married to Sherrie Phillips in Doniphan. She survives. Also surviving are four children; Gabriel Daniel Wilson Gunter and Echo Gunter, both of Doniphan; Autumn Gunter of Clinton, Missouri, and Bevin Leigh Gunter of Indiana; one step-daughter, Nikki Joy Mathews of Doniphan; his mother, Dorothy Irene Dudley Gunter of Oxly, Missouri; seven sisters, Mary Frances Ward of Oxly, Susan Dell Gunter of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Alice Irene Friar and Sally Rosetta Friar of Doniphan; Karla Faye Geddes of Romania; Elfia Viola Pruett of Foley, AL; and Anita Kay Hinkle, of Doniphan; four brothers, Floyd Robert Gunter of Fairdealing; Rolland Andrew Gunter, of Doniphan; Doran Wade Gunter of Fairdealing and Vernon Jerome Gunter of Ellington, Missouri, and one grandson, Gavyn Ray Dees of Doniphan. Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Gunter, one sister, Bonnie Mae Terry, and one brother, George Edward Terry; and one step-daughter, Heather Michelle Donnell. Visitation will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. Monday with Brother Charles Carr officiating. Burial will follow at the Springhill Cemetery.
