I was so sorry to hear of Mr Ponder's passing. He was one of my favorite teachers and I will never forget how he always appreciated each and every student for their unique qualities. He always made history so interesting. I went on to take many history classes in college. He inspired me!! God bless and my prayers to his family.

Wanda, Craig, and Greg, and all of your families, I was so sad to hear about your loss. Larry, was like my dad too. If you grew up in Sunny Achers everyone who lived there was one big family and we all shared our parents. I still remember Larry's whistle for Craig and Greg!!! He better not have to whistle twice. To the Ponder Family: You have may heartfelt sympathy. As a former high school student of "Mr. Ponder"s", I respected him as a teacher and always enjoyed going to his classes. He always made me laugh & made class worthwhile. Even though my family & I didn't come from the Doniphan community he still made me feel as though I counted as part of his class! i want to give my condolescences to the ponder family. i remember mayor ponder as he was my history teacher in school. he was always in an upbeat mood and always had the class laughing. he made my yrs in high school memorable. he was the best teacher ive ever had.he will be greatly missed. he was a one of a kind man and there wont be nobody that will be as caring or who loved doniphan as much as he did.R.I.P. To the Ponder family I'm so sorry for you lost. Mr. Ponder made a deference in my life. He was my favorite teach while high school. He was one class that I looked forward to attending everyday.
