Brian Keith Ruminer was born May 27, 1954, in Downy, California. He died unexpectedly at the home of his youngest sister on October 5, 2012, in Doniphan, Missouri. Brian grew up in the Gatewood community of Ripley County, Missouri. He graduated from Doniphan High School in 1972. Brian then enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1979. He attended Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, later transferring to Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and taught in the Osceola School System in Osceola, Arkansas, until his retirement in 2009. Upon retirement, he returned to Ripley County to live among the rolling hills of his childhood. Brian is survived by two sons, William Brian Ruminer (BJ) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Brian Alexander Ruminer (Alex), currently serving in the United States Air Force. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Rogue Ruminer of Inverness, Florida, Michael Ruminer of Conway, South Carolina, Melodye Payne of Jackson, Tennessee, Dawn Robinson of Doniphan, Greg Ruminer of Walnut, Mississippi, and Kristan Ruminer of Forrest City, Florida. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Ann Ruminer, and his father, Don Ruminer; his grandparents, Ray and Mary Houghton; and two brothers, David Shawn Ruminer and Stephen Mitchell Ruminer Brian also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives along with countless friends and loved ones. A private family memorial will be held.
