Jewel Mae Holford, 80, life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Ms. Holford was born April 14, 1927, in Ripley County, Missouri. She had been a clerk for Ripley County Associate Circuit Court Judges "Willie" Dodd and Macye Maness. Ms. Holford was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God and V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed birdwatching, playing bingo, and most of all being with her family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter, Sara (and Gary) Mathis of Doniphan; two grandchildren, Craig (and Chasity) Mathis of Doniphan and Christy (and David) Harms of Lincoln, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Carter Mathis and Charissa Mathis, both of Doniphan; one sister, Lorene Crepps of Desloge, Missouri; and two brothers, Lee Borth and Glenn Borth both of Detroit, Michigan.
Ms. Holford was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Holford, her parents, William E. Borth and Ora Milner Borth, two sisters, Ethel Grace and Leona Etter and two brothers, Clyde Borth and Bill Borth.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2007, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Bob Featherston officiating. Burial will be at the Wilson Cemetery.
