Billy Joe Joyner, 78, lifelong resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Mr. Joyner was born July 5, 1929, at St. Louis, Missouri. He was an over-the-road truck driver. Mr. Joyner was a member of the Assembly of God Church and enjoyed going to church and singings.
He was first married to Shirley Paul who survives of Greenville, Missouri. Later, on December 9, 2006, Mr. Joyner married Roberta Grimes. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one son; Billy S. Joyner of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one daughter, Jada K. Joyner of Greenville; one step-daughter, Patty Burking of Poplar Bluff; one step-son, Nathan Grimes of Doniphan; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Louise Bensen of Sunrise Beach, Missouri.
Mr. Joyner was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Joseph Joyner and Myrtle C. Masters Joyner; four sisters, Etta Lee Wester, Venita Mae Lubber, Emma L. Luye and Jewel D. Luye; four infant siblings; and three brothers, Robert Joyner, Joe Joyner and Cecil Joyner.
Visitation will be Friday, December 21, 2007, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 22, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Harold Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at the Belleview Cemetery.
