Obituary of Fern Pender

Fern Clarice Pender, 96, of Doniphan, Missouri, died September 21, 2012, at her residence in Doniphan. Mrs. Pender, daughter of the late William Watson and Ada (McDonald) Fagan, was born October 26, 1916, in Okean, Arkansas. She was a lifelong resident of Oregon and Ripley Counties, where she attended Baker School in Oregon County. She had worked at Vitronics. Mrs. Pender was a lifelong member of the Doniphan Church of Christ and enjoyed the book search and find, cooking for church activities, family and friends and spending time with her great-grandchildren. On April 8, 1938, she was married to Major Theadore Pender in Doniphan. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1993. Surviving are two sons, Mike Pender and Terry Pender, both of Doniphan; five grandchildren, Chelle Pender, Chanel Fann, Marla Rae White, Doyle Alan Pender and Kevin Lane Pender; and ten great-grandchildren, Austin Michelle, Alyssa May, Robert Seth, Jessie James, Westen Kees, Patricia Anna Marie, Braydon Alan, Reese Elizabeth, Maryn Justice and Rachelle. Mrs. Pender was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Bobby Ray Pender, two sisters, Betty Davis and Pearl Smith, and four brothers Coy Fagan, Ivan Fagan, Ernest Fagan and Clarence Fagan. Visitation will be from noon-2 PM Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be Monday September 24, 2012, at 2 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home with Mr. Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Doniphan City Cemetery in Doniphan.
