Ruby Lee Williams, 99, of Grandin, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Mark Twain Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Williams, daughter of the late Charles and Lucinda (Newport) French, was born March 20, 1913, in Oilton, Oklahoma. She was a cook and worked from nursing homes to riverboats. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ and enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was an avid poetry writer. On November 16, 1961, she was married to Martin Williams in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2001. She was previously married to Archie Brower for 26 years. Surviving are two sons: Virgil Brower and Richard Brower both of Grandin; two daughters, Nona Snead and Rita Holland, both of Doniphan; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and twelve great-great- grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by one son, Leroy Brower, two sisters, Anna Brown and Winona Barton, and one brother, Lloyd French. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday evening, September 16, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, September 17, 2012, at 11 AM at the Edwards Funeral Home with Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Grandin City Cemetery.
