James Freeman Carroll, 91, a life-long resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mr. Carroll, son of Benjamin Warren and Beulah (Martin) Carroll, was born March 17, 1921, in the Pratt Community of Ripley County, Missouri. He had been a public official of Ripley County and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Church of Christ and of the V. F. W. Post #3485. He was married in 1949 to Wandalee Marie Trevino and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2004. Surviving are two children; Brenda Redus of Doniphan and Ron Carroll of Conway, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Travis Redus, Tony Redus, and Tracy Lovins, all of Doniphan, Jill Ross, Lindsey Carroll and Whitney Carroll, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Tammy Lovins and Jessica Lovins, both of Doniphan, and Lily Ross and Dean Ross, both of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Beulah Carroll, and his wife, Wandalee Carroll. Visitation for Mr. Carroll will be Thursday evening, August 30, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start Friday morning, August 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Doniphan City Cemetery with full military honors.
