Obituary of Carolyn Young

Carolyn Faye Young, 70, of Oxly, Missouri, died August 23, 2012, in Marble Hill, Missouri. Mrs. Young, daughter of the late Elmer and Nettie (Applebee) Burpo, was born October 13, 1941, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was co-owner/operator of Fairdealing Tool and Die and a member of the Doniphan First Baptist Church. Mrs. Young was a dedicated Bible reader and enjoyed taking pictures, cooking, especially decorating cakes, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. On November 26, 1959, she was married to Gerold Melvin Young at Rockford, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2012. Surviving are two sons: Rick (Lois) Young of Rockford, Illinois, and Jeff (Cindy) Young of Park Hills, Missouri; two daughters, Renee (Jason) Wyatt of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Tiffany (Freddie) Johnson of Marble Hill; grandchildren, Stephanie Young, Candace Wyatt, Jared Wyatt, Matthew Johnson, Brittany Johnson and Jacquelyn Johnson; one sister, Arnole Kearbey of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and two brothers, William Burpo of Holcomb, Wisocnsin and Elmer G Burpo of Rockford, Illinois. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by one sister, Irma Early, one brother, Dale Burpo and one grandson Janson Wyatt. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be Monday, August 27, 2012, at 2 PM at the Doniphan First Baptist Church in Doniphan with Dr. Mike Phelps officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
