Obituary of Gordon Ball

Gordon Gale Ball, 88, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Pocahontas Nursing and Rehab Center in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Mr. Ball, son of Clyde M. and Esther M. (Elliott) Ball, was born August 25, 1923, in Oregon, Missouri. He had been a truck driver. Mr. Ball served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter, Doneva Wickmire of California; five sisters, Dianne Towell of Doniphan, Mae Laverne Buckles of Bolivar, Missouri, Phyllis Gillespie of Rogersville, Missouri, Shirley Fricke of Dallas, Texas, and Sue Jackson of Lakeville, Minnesota; four brothers, Robert Ball of Rogers, Arkansas, Darrell Ball of Sidney, Arkansas, Clyde Ball, Jr., of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Ray Ball of Doniphan; and several grand children and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Esther Ball and three brothers, Richard Ball, Jerry Ball and Verl Dean Ball.
Visitation for Mr. Ball will begin at noon Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Poynor Cemetery with full military honors.
