Helen "Loretta" Wheeler, 59, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Wheeler, daughter of Leslie and Alice (King) Smith, was born March 23, 1953, in Matthews, Missouri. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Wheeler attended West Point Pentecostal Church and enjoyed hunting, camping and being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
On April 1, 1994, she was married to Paul Wheeler in Doniphan and he survives.
Also surviving are seven children; Marie (and Shane) Hastings, Angela Evans, Tiffany Wheeler, Doug Evans (and Jennifer Reece), Jason Wheeler, Greg (and Cheryl) Wheeler and Brad (and Linda) Wheeler, all of Doniphan; three sisters, Ruth Ann Boyles and Penny Wheeler, both of Doniphan and Louise Copeland of Sikeston, Missouri; four brothers, Ed Smith of Paragould, Arkansas, Robert Smith of Sikeston, Missouri, Ricky Smith of Matthews, Missouri, and Marvin Smith of Springfield, Missouri; and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Alice Smith, and one sister, Ruby Edgar.
Visitation for Mrs. Wheeler will be Thursday evening, August 9, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Friday morning, August 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Chuck Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Shirley Cemetery.
