Charles Darrell McGee, 75 year old resident of Doniphan, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. Mr. McGee was born December 20, 1936, in Bethlehem, PA, to the late Charles and Eule (Myerrick) McGee.
Charles served in the US Navy for 24 years as a Russian/Hebrew linguist and was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He developed language programs at Engineering Research Associates in Reston, VA, and later worked at the Radio Station in Doniphan. He was of the Catholic faith.
On April 15, 1961, in Washington, D.C., he was married to Aline LaRoe. She survives.
Also surviving are children, Sean Charles McGee of Atlanta, GA; Eric I.B. McGee of Jonesboro, AR; and Ian William McGee of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Madonna Miltenburger of Bethlehem, PA; Hildegard Bradney of Belfast, ME; brothers, Terry. Larry, and Shawn McGee all of Bethlehem, PA.
A graveside service for Mr. McGee, with military honors, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Hitt Cemetery in Success, Arkansas under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan, MO.
