Shirley McGonigal, 97, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Ms. McGonigal, daughter of Joe and Emily (Walker) McGee, was born January 20, 1915, in Doniphan. She had been a cook at local restaurants and the Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Ms. McGonigal enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.
She is survived by three children; Ernest (and Darlene) McGonigal of Kansas City, Missouri, Anita (and Melvin) Murphey of Doniphan and Delois(and Bob) O'Bryant of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Little of Doniphan; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Emily McGee; two daughters, Joyce Blanton and Doris Jane McGonigal; three sisters, Effie Pope, Maude Murray and Lora Mayes; and three brothers, Sam McGee, Harvey McGee and Walter McGee.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
