Obituary of Irvin Emmons

Irvin Clifford Emmons, 76, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Mr. Emmons, son of Jerry and Chloa (Edmonds) Emmons, was born March 30, 1936, in Doniphan, Missouri. He was retired from General Motors in St. Louis. Mr. Emmons was a member of the Fairview Church of God and served in the U. S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the Doniphan V.F.W. Post #3485 and enjoyed all outdoor activities. Surviving are two daughters, Jana Emmons and Michelle Hessling, both of St. Peters, Missouri; one sister, Geraldine Snodgrass of St. Augustine, Florida, two grandsons, Michael Emmons and Jacob Hessling, both of St. Peters, one niece, Melissa Welch of Doniphan, Missouri, two nephews, Gary Snodgrass of St. Augustine, Florida, and Steve Snodgrass of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and several other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Chloa Emmons, and one brother, Everett Emmons. Visitation for Mr. Emmons will be Wednesday evening, May 2, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will start at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, May 3, 2012, at the Fairview Church of God Cemetery.
