Robert "Bob" J. Dean, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday April 20, 2012, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mr. Dean, son of Robert Cleveland & Alka (Turner) Dean, was born January 9, 1926, in Wheelwright, KY. He was an owner/operator of "Dean's T.V" in Artesia, California, where he did sales and repair. Mr. Dean enjoyed fishing, gardening, and political debates. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. YMS 134 during World War II.
On August 7, 1948, he was married to Corine Cavens in Doniphan, MO at the First Baptist Church. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Virginia Ditto of Guntersville, AL, Nancy Dean of Idaho Falls, ID, & Mary Gray of Doniphan; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Dean will be Sunday evening, April 22, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service with military honors will start at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Russell Chitwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Towels Cemetery.
