Carlton Woodard G.C. ( Carlton ) Woodard Nov. 27, 1919 - Sept. 13, 2007 G.C. " Carlton " Woodard, 87, of Doniphan died Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Woodard was born November 27, 1919, to Sadie Louise and Grover Cleveland Woodard in Naylor, Missouri. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church in Naylor and then Doniphan. He farmed in the Naylor area most of his life before retiring to Fairdealing, to ride and trade horses and spend time with his family. Throughout his life he served the greater community by participating on the Naylor R-II School, Mercantile Bank, and Ozark Border Electric Co-Operative Boards. On April 27, 1946, he was married to Jessie Mae Slayton in Corning, Arkansas. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Nancy Fuller and her husband Ed, of Los Gatos, California; his granddaughter, Heather Sieberg of Santa Clara, California; one sister, Ruth Holderfield and her husband K.L., of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one brother, Robert Woodard and his wife Peggy, of Naylor, Missouri; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by estranged daughter, Carla Johnson of Florence, Oregon. Mr. Woodard was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Louise and Grover Cleveland Woodard; and one sister, Wilma Blackwell, of El Dorado, Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007, from 5-8 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan, Missouri. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at 10 AM at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at the Naylor Cemetery in Naylor.
