Myra Estelle Tharp, 91, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Mrs. Tharp, daughter of Ralph and Virginia (Radford) Tillman, was born December 19, 1920, in Newbern, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking and playing cardgames of all sorts. Mrs. Tharp attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
She was married to William Sephus Tharp on June 16, 1940, at Dyersberg, Tennessee. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons; Marcus Tharp of Doniphan and David (and Sandra) Tharp of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two daughters, Janie Thompson of Doniphan, Missouri, and Brenda (and Richard) Peavy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Virginia Tillman, her husband, William Tharp, three sisters, Sue Tillman, Delaney Reinholt and Ruth Lambertino, and two brothers, Ollie Joe Tillman and Rad Tillman.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday evening, April 13, 2012, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral services will start on Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Bon Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
