Obituary of Robert Owings

Robert Lee (Bob) Owings, 75 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Current River Nursing Center. Mr. Owings was born April 29, 1936 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to the late Teddy and Ola (Yates) Owings. He was a owner/operator of a sawmill and logging operation. He was an ordained minister who founded Agape Gospel Tent Revival Ministry. He was an avid fisherman, master gardener, and expert wood craftsman. On January 1, 1989 he was married to Callie Mae Bettis. She survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Leanna McDaniel and husband Steve of Mountain Grove, MO; Donna Dornin and husband Gary of Doniphan; Tracy Owings of Doniphan; Betty Ann Kelly of Poplar Bluff, MO; Kelly Leroux and husband Eric of Doniphan; Jewelee Owings and husband Randy O'Neal of Doniphan; three sons, Robert Owings, II and wife Marcy of Roseville, CA; James Owings and wife Anna of Neosho, MO; John Owings of Doniphan; one brother, Marion Owings of Oklahoma City, OK; three sisters, Theresa Hestand of Mt. Vernon, MO; Linda Weaver of Texas; Joelee Raines of Doniphan, MO; Twenty one grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin infant sons, Richard and Dick; brothers, Alfred(Bill) Owings, Freddie Owings, and Joe Owings; sisters Rose Marie Avila and Mary Lou (Mel) Brown. Funeral Services for Mr. Owings will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2012 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Leroux officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery at Alton, MO. Visitation for Mr. Owings will be Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M.
