Obituary of Judith Elaine Tompkins

Judith Elaine Tompkins, 72, departed this life Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born November 28, 1952, in Doniphan, MO, to the late Phillip and Emily (Thompson) Brooks.

 

Judith had worked in education, running the computer lab at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO. Her passion for learning was evident not only in her commitment to her students but also in her own pursuit of knowledge, earning a master’s degree to further her education. Judith had a kind and generous heart, always searching for ways to help others, whether by donation or a personal act of kindness. She loved roses, and they always seemed to brighten her day.

 

Surviving are her sisters, Nancy Susan Mathis of Fairdealing, MO and Phyllis Huber of Viola, MO, and brothers, Mark Brooks of Boomer, NC and Daniel Brooks of Doniphan.

 

Judith was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Brasser on December 27, 2003. She was also preceded by two brothers, Dennis Brooks and Tim Brooks.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 9, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Fairview Church of God Cemetery.
