Dear Bill and Carole,
We are so saddened by the passing of Boar. He truly was “bigger than life” and a wonderful person. Jerry and I are sorry that we can not be there as we are currently in Connecticut at our daughters. Please know our prayers are with you and all of the family.

Wonderful memories of camping on Current River almost every weekend in the summer. Always visiting with Larry and his parents- it was their gravel bar.

Boar was called Wag when we were growing up and I was always in awe of him. He could out swim all of us and certainly out fish us all. But he also bought the biggest box of firecrackers each year for the Price river picnic on the 4th of July.
One year he managed to accidentally ignite the entire box at one time. Of course we were all, “blown away” and loved the excitement. The Price clan all remembered that 4th!

From Junior high through my early 20’s I knew Larry as a teammate, classmate, friend, and fellow River lover. After I moved away I knew and followed him remotely through mutual friends or occasional visits. To me he was an unassuming “jack of all trades”---farmer, logger, builder, hunter, fisher, gardener, shade tree mechanic, person who could handle a problem or emergency”. But the thing I will most remember him for was his love and stewardship of the River and the Price Family Farm at Bay Mill Eddy. The State of MIssouri, and especially Ripley County, has lost a true devoted son. If there was such a thing as a “Current River Hall of Fame” I would put Larry’s name at the top of the list as a nomination from his generation. RIP Wag.

Great trip to Alaska where Boar was in his element. What a great guy, friend, gentleman and human being. Lost him on same day as George Steele and will greatly miss them. Rest in Peace.

I will always remember the “Price gravel bar pig roast” on Memorial Day weekends. Always had a great time with Larry on our “adventures” growing up in Doniphan and especially on Current River. And those “fun” days working in the hay fields on their farm!! He will be truly missed by a lot of friends.

I’m so sorry to learn of Boar’s passing. I have many memories of him as a member of the “Harry, Larry and Gary” crowd when we were growing up. He and Susan were just two months apart and died three years apart on the 22nd and 21st of December. I remember my dad running into Larry on the river when he’d just gotten back from Vietnam. My usually stoic father told us that evening that he could hardly keep from crying when he shook hands with Larry and welcomed him home. We were all so happy to have him back. I know that Boar’s kind heart and legacy as an avid outdoorsman will be long remembered by all of his friends and family. Love to Carol, Bill and Daryl — I know that you are experiencing a profound sense of loss with Boar’s passing.
