Obituary of James Ray Wilson
James Ray “Hacksaw” Wilson, 58-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born September 27, 1966, in Grant, MI, to Betty (Harris) Weese of Corning, AR and the late J. W. Wilson.
Hacksaw was a jack of all trades. He was known for his larger-than-life personality, always bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Whether helping a friend, joining his brothers on a Twisted Nutz outing, DJing, or winning a pool tournament, he was always involved in the fun. Hacksaw also enjoyed the outdoors, spending time hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a lover of sports and rock-n-roll music. He will be remembered most for his kindness, sense of humor, and love for his family and friends.
On March 21, 2019, Hacksaw married Cindy LaPar in Grandin. She survives. Also surviving are children, Jennifer Wilson of Corning, Tanya (Rex) Wilson of Citronelle, AL, and James (Mea) Brannon, Sierra Brannon, Marti Brannon, and Lucas Wilson, all of Doniphan; his mother; a sister, Jayetta (Darrell) Tyler of Knobel, AR; sister-in-law, Misty (Dale) Trube of Doniphan; brothers, Buck (Rose) Wilson of Warm Springs, AR, Virgil (Melissa) Wilson of Henderson, AR, and Bobby (Ginger) Wilson of Grandview, MO; brothers-in-law, Edward (Jessica) LaPar of Doniphan, Steven (Melissa) Lapar, also of Doniphan; parents-in-law, Eddie and Nita Lapar of Doniphan; and Twisted Nutz Brothers. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Forrest, Carson, and Khloe, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 9, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. The family will have a private burial at a later date.
