Obituary of Delbert Pyles, Jr.

Delbert Pyles, Jr. 73, of Grandin, MO, departed this life Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was born November 30, 1951, in Granite City, IL, the son of the late Ruby (Jensen) and Delbert Pyles, Sr.

 

Delbert was a diesel mechanic and had served as treasurer of the Local 50 Granite City Steel.  He enjoyed carpentry and was passionate about hunting, which led him to settle in Grandin and the Carter and Ripley County region where he enjoyed the beauty of the area and hunting.

 

On November 2, 1973, in Granite City, Delbert married Lynda Mitchell. She survives. Also surviving are his children Stacy (Gregory) Marti of Collinsville, IL and Terry Pyles of Danville, IL; a sister, Barbara Staggs Elledge of Champaign, IL; and a brother, Randell Pyles of Fort Meyers, FL. Delbert also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with four on the way.

 

In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by a son, David Pyles and a grandson, Michael Pyles.

 

A memorial visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Brother Pete Joplin will be officiating.
