Louis “Bud” Townsend, Jr., 69, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was born December 14, 1954, in IL, to Louis and Dorothy (Meekins) Townsend.

Bud had worked on smokestacks and worked for Toms Tuckpointing.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and watching Westerns.

On February 14, 1996, in Branson, MO, he married June Farris, and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Dorothy Townsend of Grandin; children, Vicki Lawrence of Cape Girardeau, Christina Ritchey of Doniphan, Sheila Harvey of Grandin; step-children, Tammy Wilson of Ballwin and Krissy Handley of Boston, MA; sisters, Sandra (Clifford) Farrel, Sue Knapp, and Anna Nance, all of Grandin, and Judy Tillman of Doniphan; a brother, John (Tammy) Townsend of Grandin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Louis Townsend Sr., and son, Michael Ray Townsend.

Graveside services will be held at the Grandin/Carter County Cemetery on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11 AM.
