Obituary of Shirley Mae Parsley
Shirley Mae Parsley, 88-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was born May 27, 1936, in Ripley County, MO, to the late Grace Gladys (Dickson) Sullivan and Clyde Newton Sullivan, Sr.
A loving housewife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley was a “Jill of All Trades”. She enjoyed making things for her family and especially liked sewing and crocheting. In contrast to these talents, she also was a small engine mechanic. Shirley was of the Pentecostal Faith and was a talented organist.
Shirley had been married to Raymond Roy Parsley. He preceded her in death on May 22, 2018. She was also preceded by her sisters, Linda Sue (Sullivan) Juelfs and Geneva Sullivan, and a brother, Clyde N. Sullivan, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Teresa (Gary) Myers of Plant City, FL; a sister-in-law, Elsieleen Dunn of Arcadia, FL; Ronnie Lee Sullivan of Jerrell, TX and Kenneth Ray Sullivan of Doniphan; one grandson, Kyle (Amanda) Myers; and four great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 30, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Arlin West will be officiating, and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
