Theresa Marie Garland, 57, of Labadie, MO, departed this life Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was born June 16, 1967, in Doniphan, to the late Paul and Elva Lorene (Welp) Garland.

Theresa spent her childhood in Doniphan before leaving home to pursue further schooling in Fremont, Nebraska at Midland Lutheran College, where she studied marketing and photography. After completing her education, she settled in the St. Louis area and found work with Southwestern Bell in the marketing department where she stayed for many years until the time came to find new opportunities. She found a new home with AFLAC where her upbeat personality and driven nature allowed her to excel, quickly achieving the title of District Sales Coordinator. 

Her upbeat, positive, and kind demeanor endeared her to family, friends, and coworkers. She possessed a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. She enjoyed her work and didn’t mind that she was a workaholic. Theresa was a St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan, inheriting that love from her mother. She liked to travel and took every opportunity to frame her trips and friends in her camera lens. Her tender heart and love were also extended to her dogs, Moxie and Yadi.

Surviving is her son, Tyler (Micaela Grabert) Garland of St. Louis, and her brothers, Curtis (Lu Ann) Garland of Ida, MI and Stuart (Tammy) Garland of Foley, MO.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Doniphan, MO, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Theresa’s brother, Reverend Curtis Garland, will be officiating, and burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
