Obituary of Della Mae Crook

Della Mae Crook, 83 year old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life, Wednesday, July 3, 2024.  She was born October 13, 1940, in Herky, MO, to the late Elmer and Hazel (Oliver) Schanz.

 

Della had worked at Vitronic.  She had also attended Good Hope Church.  Della had a love for traveling, and her travels included attending Blue Grass Festivals.  She also enjoyed being outside working in her garden.

 

On March 13, 1981 Della married Vernon Crook in Doniphan.  He preceded her in death on May 11, 2014.  She was also preceded by a son, Marvin Young, and a sister, Rae Schanz.

 

Surviving are her children, Elmer Young of Doniphan; Glenn Crook of Ellsinore, MO; Rhonda Tipton of Grandin, MO; Howard Young of Willow Springs, MO; and Shawn Manning of Garden City, MO; a sister Dollie Clampit; and two brothers, Butch Schanz of Hillsboro, MO; and Chuck Schanz of Arnold, MO.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Good Hope Cemetery.
