Obituary of Russell Louis Gloyd

Russell Louis Gloyd, 63, of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was born February 26, 1961, in Tucson, AZ, to the late Perry and Johnnie (Johnson) Gloyd.

 

Russell had been the plant manager with Royal Oak Enterprises in Ellsinore, MO. He was a member of Pen Turning and Learning which was just one facet of his woodworking hobby. Known as a “Jack of All Trades and Master of Many”, Russell had many projects he was always doing for his family. He was very proud of his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Russell enjoyed dirt bike racing and had served in the United States Air Force.

 

On September 24, 1978, Russell married Carolyn Phelps. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Raven (Brian) Kirkley, Robert (Alleesha) Gloyd, Cheryl (Kevin) Crafford, Joseph (Paige) Gloyd, all of Poplar Bluff, MO; a sister, Peggy Gloyd of Goodlettsville, TN; two brothers, Kenneth Gloyd of Tucson, AZ and Perry Gloyd, III of Texas; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Jerry Crowley will be officiating, and burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
